Bev first worked at Eglinton Vet as a student in high school and joined the veterinary team in 2001 following graduation from the Ontario Veterinary College. Throughout her training, Bev worked in wildlife rehabilitation and with exotic pets, including travel to assist small and large animal veterinary practices in East Africa. Although her intention was to work with exotic species, she was thrilled to be offered the opportunity to join the EVF team immediately after graduation, and working with dogs and cats has become her focus. She committed to being at EVF long-term after taking over ownership of the clinic in 2009.
Outside of work, Bev loves to spend time with her family, who share their home with many fur friends. Bev’s ‘relaxation’ comes in the form of playing goal in multiple women’s recreational hockey leagues around the City. She is also active in advocacy for people with Lyme disease, using her veterinary knowledge to help humans too.
Bev's philosophy towards medicine has evolved over the years and she recognizes the benefits of a "holistic" view towards each patient. She is certified in small animal veterinary acupuncture and is in training to become certified in Chinese herbal medicine. Both of these modalities have the potential to help our patients with acute and chronic pain along with other medical issues. Please see here for more information about our integrative veterinary care including acupuncture and herbal medicine.
