Veterinary Technician
Isabel
Ever since I can remember, I have always loved animals. I gave up my baby bottle for a litter of puppies who lost their mom, and that’s how I met my first dog. I grew up surrounded by horses, dogs, cats, rabbits, cows, and pigs, so my love for animals dates back to my childhood.
I graduated as a veterinarian in Quito, Ecuador, in 2021, and I am in the process of obtaining my veterinary license in Canada. I’ve worked in the veterinary field since university, starting as an assistant and later becoming a veterinarian. In Canada, I have been working as a veterinary technician since July 2023.
My role in the clinic is multifaceted. I assist veterinarians during consultations and surgeries. I am responsible for ensuring our patients receive the best possible care and for being a support system for our medical team.
My goal with every patient is to ensure they have a pleasant experience during each visit and to provide them with the best possible care. I love seeing the progress of each patient, whether it’s their first vet visit for vaccinations or a follow-up after surgery.
My closest family includes my husband, Levi, and our kitty (daughter), Ninja Maria. In Ecuador, I have two cats, Ceniza and Fuego, and Kena, my German shepherd.
I love outdoor activities. I enjoy camping, biking, and hiking. In Ecuador, I lived in the mountains, which made me develop a deep love for mountaineering. I also love extreme sports like paragliding and scuba diving.
My personal mantra is to Be Kind.
